Eight Candidates In The Fray, Election Symbols Allotted



Ambedkar Nagar :   Not a single nomination paper was returned during the process of Lok Sabha elections on Thursday. Meanwhile, the administration also completed the work of allotment of election symbols to all the eight candidates. A total of 16 candidates had filed nominations for the sixth phase of elections. The nomination papers of eight were rejected during scrutiny. On Thursday, all these eight candidates had a chance to withdraw their names but no one withdrew their nomination papers. The administration also allotted election symbols to all the eight candidates.



BJP's Ritesh Pandey got a lotus, SP's Lalji Verma got a bicycle, BSP's Qamar Hayat got elephant election symbol, besides Neelam Singh of Native Party got hockey and ball, Bhartiya Party's PK Ramnaresh Prajapati got a stick, Bharatiya Shakti Chetna Party's Vivek got Kumar was allotted flute, Peace Party was allotted glass symbol and independent Javed Ahmed Siddiqui was allotted cot election symbol.


On the other hand, District Election Officer Avinash Singh has issued a letter to all the candidates saying that the first inspection of the expenditure register will have to be done in the Collectorate on May 11. It is mandatory to conduct the second inspection on 17th May and the third inspection on 23rd May. All expenses will be through separately opened bank accounts. In case the details of daily expenditure are not submitted within the stipulated time, action will be taken against the concerned candidate under the Public Representation Act.
