Actor Govinda joined Shiv Sena on Thursday. He took membership of the party in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. After this, there is speculation that Shinde's party may give him ticket from Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat. If this happens, he will contest against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Amol Kirtikar.
Earlier on Wednesday, Govinda had met Shinde camp leader and former Shiv Sena MLA Krishna Hegde, whose photo was also revealed. Govinda had earlier won the election from Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket in 2004. Then he defeated BJP's Ram Naik by 48,271 votes.
On Thursday, CM Eknath Shinde gave party membership to Govinda, pictures of which have also been revealed.
