Ambedkar Nagar. Participating in a BJP program proved costly for a clerk in the DPRO office. On the instructions of District Election Officer Avinash Singh, District Panchayat Raj Officer Avnish Kumar Srivastava suspended junior assistant Sunil Verma on Saturday. On Friday, BJP had organized a program to felicitate village heads in Akbarpur. Meanwhile, Sunil Verma, a clerk posted in the District Panchayat Raj Officer's office, reached there, his wife is the village head.
Reaching his wife's place himself, he formally put the plaque with the BJP symbol around his neck. Some people passed his information to the authorities. The employee clarified that Friday was a government holiday. He did not go to the program but to the hotel where people called him. However, even after this cleaning, action will be taken as per rules.
