The woman from Baranasi district said that she was getting the construction done by getting the deed of a land in the city in which Khajuraho Hotel owner Pappu and his brother-in-law Gyan Prakash Shukla, resident of Baskhari Marg, had helped. When they could not pay the money, they used to molest her. Last month, on January 28, both the men, along with their wife and a dozen other people, beat them up and snatched the gold jewellery, locked the door from outside and went away.

A month ago, Akbarpur Kotwali police had registered a case against five named and a dozen unknown persons in the case of gangrape and robbery by taking a woman hostage on the orders of SP.
Apart from Pappu Khajuraho Hotel owner, Gyan Prakash Shukla, Deepa, Pappu Hotel owner's wife and Karuna Shankar, the names of a dozen unknown people are included in the case.
