Ambedkar Nagar : So far in April, 139 transformers of different capacities have blown up due to increase in temperature and overloading. People of the area concerned had to face problems due to this. On the other hand, compared to February, electricity consumption increased by about nine million units in March. It has further increased in the current month of April.
In order to provide better electricity to the consumers, the Power Corporation had claimed to not only install new transformers but also increase the capacity of the transformers which were running overloaded. Despite this, as the temperature is increasing, the process of blowing of transformers of different capacities is also going on. The biggest reason for this is believed to be overloading.
In 28 days of the current month, 139 transformers of different capacities got burnt. According to the Power Corporation office, this includes 34 transformers of 10 KVA capacity, 12 of 16 KVA, 66 of 25 KVA, 20 of 63 KVA, three of 100 KVA and four of 250 KVA capacity. It is known that 114 transformers were blown in March. According to Pakar Corporation, the blown transformer was replaced in time due to which the consumers of the concerned area did not face much problem.
According to the Power Corporation office, as the heat is increasing, the consumption of electricity is also increasing. Electricity consumption in February was 64.9612 million units. It increased to 73.3888 million units in March. In such a situation, electricity consumption increased by about nine million units. Now, when the figures are released at the end of April, this consumption is expected to increase by 15 million units more.
In fact, as the temperature is increasing, the use of electrical appliances has increased. Fridge, water cooler, AC, fan, cooler are being used mainly. Considering the way the heat is continuously increasing, it is estimated that about 15 million units more electricity will be consumed in the month of April as compared to the month of March.
