Ambedkar Nagar. The role of SO in the illegal extortion case has come under question by being kept in lockup in Jahangirganj police station of the district. The victims have made many serious allegations and have insisted on including all the facts in the SIT investigation. He says that along with the suspension of three constables, accountability of the SO should also be fixed for the collection of money in the police station.
These days, the case of extorting Rs 80,000 in cash from three youths after locking them in Jahangirganj police station and beating them mercilessly is gaining momentum these days. Another victim has also alleged that he was kept in the lockup, beaten badly and extorted Rs 30,000 to extort tax. SP constituted SIT. In the case of beating and illegal extortion of three youths, SP Dr. Kaustubh took strict action and suspended three constables late on Friday evening.
Meanwhile, two of the three youths from whom recovery was made have raised serious questions on the role of the police station in-charge. Sant Kabirnagar residents Praveen Yadav and Surendra Singh said on Saturday that suspension of three constables is the right step but strict action should also be taken against the police station in-charge. Both the complainants said that the SO was also involved in the entire matter. The entire recovery was done in his knowledge after being locked in the police station itself.
Hakimpur village head representative of Sant Kabir Nagar, Rana Pratap Singh, who is supporting the victims, said that I have also clearly stated in my recorded statement that the SO was involved. In such a situation, unless action is taken against those responsible, such arbitrariness cannot be effectively stopped.
According to the victims, CCTV footage will also prove the SO's involvement. Both the victims said that when they were confined in the lockup, a constable named Saurabh Yadav had come there twice. Talked about Rs. After this he went to SO. Returned from there and came to the lockup. After this he said that if he gives one lakh rupees then he will release you people. After this, when the family members gave Rs 80 thousand, he was taken out of the lockup.
The victims said that apart from the CCTV cameras installed in front of the women's help desk and the police station office, the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the police station in-charge room should be examined. This will also reveal the role of SO in the whole matter.
