Ambedkar Nagar: A water tank and tube well building is being constructed by the Water Corporation Department in Gram Sabha Kodra Kataria Sammanpur under Akbarpur development block area. So that the problem of water shortage can be solved and water supply can be provided to every household. But the water tank and tube well building are on the verge of sinking in this rainy season due to the short-sightedness, arbitrariness and negligence of the Water Corporation Department.
It is said that the land on which the tube well building is being constructed is in a pond, according to the area residents, due to excessive rainfall, the pond gets waterlogged and there will always be a possibility of the tube well building water tank submerging. Unnecessary and arbitrary money is also being spent in its construction. Construction materials are substandard. Such poor construction work is exposing the Jal Nigam department.
It is noteworthy that the water tank is being constructed on the land of the pond. There is a road in the middle of the pond. The ponds are about 4 to 5 feet deep from road level height. Still, the water tank is being constructed from the lower surface of the pond. During the rainy season, water comes over the road due to heavy rains causing waterlogging. And the entire pond gets filled with water. There is no justification for constructing a tube well building at this unsuitable place. The problem of waterlogging will always remain on this building.
Why is it that the Jal Nigam Department is constructing a water tank below the ground level at an unsuitable low land location? Which is completely inappropriate and contrary to the standards.
The pictures we have received clearly show that the road is at a height of 5 feet from the ground, which is very high. Despite this, the water tank is being constructed from the lower land of the pond itself.
After all, why are the people of the area surprised that a water tank is being constructed under the Standard Viparit Jal Jeevan Mission. Despite knowing about the misuse of government funds by departmental officials deeply immersed in corruption, higher officials are not paying even the slightest attention to it.
It is alleged that the construction work of water tank is being done in the village Kondra Kataria Sammanpur of Akbarpur block with the connivance and negligence of the contractor, engineer and officer of the Water Corporation Department. Educated people of the village and area say that the contractors and engineers are busy misappropriating the money received for the construction of the water tank.
It has been told that several times news was published in the media and newspapers about the irregularities in the construction of this tube well and its building and the matter was brought to the notice of higher officials, but the situation still remains the same.
The villagers have demanded that it should be inspected by higher officials and constructed at a suitable place. It is alleged that the government's ambitious plan has become a victim of corruption due to the short-sightedness, arbitrariness of the officials and the nexus of the contractors. Public money, which is called government money, is being divided among themselves by some selected corrupt people. It seems that the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, which has become a victim of corruption, will take centuries to succeed.
The water tank of the said village has become a topic of much discussion at present. The contractor is acting arbitrarily with the consent of higher officials. The aggregates used in construction are contrary to the standards. Local people strongly opposed this and some journalists published the news. But the result was different. In the matter of looting the Mission's money through corruption, the Jal Nigam Department and the contractor are being said to be in trouble.
The people of the district consider the District Magistrate to be an experienced, hard-working and honest officer, but he did not even bother to look at the plight of this tap well building. In a telephone conversation, Amit Pandey, popularly known as Tank Engineer among the local villagers, has termed the entire news as false. The Chief Executive, Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer of Jal Nigam did not consider it appropriate to talk about this matter.
