Ambedkar Nagar : Amidst the torrential rains, the wall of a house collapsed in Bimawal village of Alapur police station area on Tuesday night, an old woman died after getting buried under the debris, while her husband got injured. On the other hand, waterlogging at major places and intersections of the district due to rain has increased the problems of the people. People have to travel through dirty water flowing on the roads. The rain has also adversely affected the power supply.
The intermittent rains for the last three days have now started increasing the problems. The rain started again from Tuesday night and continued almost the whole day on Wednesday. On Tuesday night, Ramlutavan (79), resident of Bimawal village of Alapur police station area, and his wife Lali (75) were sleeping under a house made of tin shed and baked bricks. Amidst heavy rain suddenly the tin shed along with the wall collapsed. Due to this both of them got buried under it. On request, other villagers along with other family members reached the spot. Both were pulled out from the debris.
The woman had become unconscious after being seriously injured while her husband Ramlutavan suffered minor injuries. The woman was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. Police reached the spot after getting information and sent the body for postmortem. Meanwhile, as soon as the information was received, SDM Sadanand and Naib Tehsildar Raj Kapoor reached the village on Wednesday and took stock of the incident site. He also met the victim's family and assured them of all possible help.
