Ambedkar Nagar : Big negligence has come to light in the construction being done under Jaljeevan Mission. Under the scheme, the boundary wall built on non-standard foundation in Madhopur village collapsed in the very first rain. Recently, the DM has personally given instructions to demolish another such boundary wall and construct it afresh while special repair of another one.
Under the Jaljeevan Mission, great arbitrariness of the executing organization has come to light in the construction taking place in different areas of the district. In Madhopur of development block Bhiyanv, the boundary wall built around the overhead tank and tube well by the executive organization Vindhya Tele Link collapsed due to rain. This incident happened a day ago. It is said that the boundary wall was erected on a non-standard foundation.
Taking the matter seriously, DM Avinash Singh directed the Jal Nigam to investigate at all places. During this, it was found that the boundary wall constructed under the project in Sehri village of Jalalpur tehsil area is also non-standard. On this, instructions were given to the executing agency VTL to demolish it and get it rebuilt. Similarly, in Gopri Chandpur and Katghar Musa, the construction of boundary wall was found to be non-standard and there were cracks in it. Instructions were given to get these also repaired.
To solve the problem of drinking water in rural areas, work is going on on 571 projects under Jaljeevan Mission. In this, the executing agency Vindhya Tele Link is working on 509 projects and Wellspan is working on 62 projects. Complaints were continuously being received regarding the construction works being done by Vindhya Tele Link.
Recently, there were cracks in the pillars of the overhead tank being built in Jalalpur and Katehari development blocks. On this, instructions were given to demolish them and build them afresh. Apart from this, poor quality bricks were used in the construction of tube well building in Ramnagar block area. On this the entire building was demolished and rebuilt.
