Ambulance investigation report submitted to DM, executive body under question

Ambedkar Nagar :  The investigation report of the ambulance rigging case has reached the DM. It is said that the district level officers and employees of Gunapathy Banket Krishna Reddy Company, the agency executing the investigation, were involved in rigging. It is believed that the DM will send the recommendation for action against the concerned to the Health Directorate, after which action will be taken against those responsible.

In the month of May, major irregularities were revealed in the operation of 102 and 108 ambulance services. In this case, the ambulance was shown running on the road without the patient. Each ambulance was making 25 to 30 trips every day, causing a huge loss to the revenue. When CMO Dr. Rajkumar got the matter investigated, major irregularities in the operation of the ambulance came to light.

In this, the involvement of many district level officers as well as employees of Gunapathy Banket Krishna Reddy, the organization that is responsible for its operations, came to light. The ambulance team consisting of two additional CMOs and a nodal officer investigated the entire matter and submitted the complete report to the CDO. The CDO returned the file twice to gather more facts in the investigation.

It was also directed that sworn statements of those ASHAs from whose numbers the ambulance was called should also be recorded. Recently, after a thorough investigation, the report was once again sent to the CDO.

According to sources, all the district level officers and some employees of the company are involved in the investigation conducted into the ambulance rigging. On the other hand, CDO Anuraj Jain said that the investigation report has been made available to the DM for action.

Before the rigging came to light, each ambulance used to make 25 to 30 trips per day. Now the number of rounds has reduced unexpectedly. According to the investigation done by the team, the ambulance which used to make 25 to 30 trips every day in April is now making hardly three to five trips. In such a situation, it is clear that there were large-scale irregularities in the ambulance operation.
